Meet The Survivor’s Helpers

Renee & KimSurvivor’s Helper Co-ChairsRenee Lynn Scott is a devoted wife and mother to her son, Brenden. She holds a BS degree from St. John’s University and a MS degree from LIU CW Post. She is the Founder and President of Stepping Stone Support. She has been the Co-Chair for Survivor’s Helper since 2010. Renee is a member of the Stony Brook Cancer Center Advisory Council and a Development Advancement Committee member for the Foundation For Women’s Cancer. She is also a cervical cancer survivor since 1999.Kimberly Westerdale is a dedicated wife and mother. She’s an Administrative Assistant for 25+ years for UPS. Kim has been the Vice President for Stepping Stone Support since 2005 and Co-Chair for SH since 2010. Kim is also a  skin cancer survivor and dons a black ribbon to raise awareness. |

Lori Alvarado is a dedicated wife and mother. She has been a nail tech for 18+ years and is a certified Opi trainer. She works along side celebrity nail tech and SLH donor, Deborah Lippmann. Lori has worked Fashion Week for the past 5 years for designers Kate Spade, Narcisco Rodriguez, Refinary 24. Edun & Badgley Miska to name a few. She’s also done nails for Madonna, Nicky Minaj & MIA, Kardashian family and more. She has taken time off from photo shoots & music videos to become a Survivor’s Helper to provide in home beauty services for our SLH recipients. |

Kristin Mahoney, Christina Ferrante, Renee Lynn Scott, Kimberly Westerdale, Susie Lauber, Brittany Montanaro, Marianne Cantwell, Michele Tarolli, Taylor Montanaro, and Lindsay Montanaro are dedicated Survivor’s Helpers.They shop, wrap, and deliver holiday joy to our Survivor’s Helper recipients and their families during the holiday season. |

Our amazing group of adult and youth volunteers put community first. They volunteer at many events throughout the year. During the holiday season they hand craft beautiful cards for our survivors, donate gifts, and wrap adding a special touch to every gift. They truly are #SurvivorsHelpers #AthleteWithACause Our youth volunteers are our Future Philanthropists |

Pat O’Keefe is the proud mother of two grown boys, and one grandson. Pat spent her early years raising her boys in Manhasset and working as a JR HS business teacher in Deer Park. In later years her love of cooking translated into writing a weekly recipe column & volunteering for local soup kitchens, sheltering programs and for local families in need. For the past twenty years, Pat has volunteered her time to East End Hospice. She has chaired numerous events and has received The Spirit of the Community Award for her many years of dedication. Since 2012 Pat has been a Survivor’s Helper cooking meals for our survivors and their families during the holidays. |
