I’ve always been passionate about going to college, getting married and starting a family. I married my soulmate a year after college and during the following year we began the journey to parenthood. We had no idea of the struggles we were about to endure or the devastating effects of what the future would hold. At 28 I was diagnosed with Stage 1B Cervical Cancer.  The news was shocking. It left us devastated. We were on an emotional roller coaster.  I felt the need for support, but couldn’t find any that fit my needs.

In 2005, I decided to help other cancer survivors on their journey to parenthood after cancer. I’m passionate about creating an organization that can be the stepping stone for many others who need help dealing with their diagnosis; providing them a chance at emotional wellness. I’m dedicated to being a patient advocate and survivor sister. Stepping Stone Support helps men and women affected by cancer.  With the help of our community and local and national partners we are able to help moms and dads battling cancer as well as their caregiver and children.  We are dedicated volunteers aka Survivor’s Helpers.

Please consider joining me on this journey in honor and in memory of those affected by cancer. The road may be long, but it doesn’t have to be traveled alone.
